The more things stay the same......

Have you ever noticed that as you go from day to day, things pretty much stay the same. Day in and day out we do the same tasks and have the same routines. But when you look back over long periods of time, things are different. Little by little, things have changed. Most of the time the changes go unnoticed. Until you look back. Reminds me of the song from "Fiddler on the Roof". Sun rise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset, Swiftly fly the years. One season following another. Laden with happiness and tears.

One step at a time we were making our path. Little things, little tasks make up our lives. Not often are we caught up in the monumetal. Just the day to day living. And it gets old and tiring. Sometimes we forget the end goal that we are striving for. Sometimes we get so dull of doing that we don't watch where we are going.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Gal. 6:9

Did we ask God to guide us? Do we know His goal for our steps? Or were we only checking in with him for the monumetal steps? It is the little steps that make the most progress. Why do we not ask on a continual basis where he wants us to place that next step?
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thess 5:17 means just that. Being in the "habit" (so to speak) of asking where each and every step should be placed.
The scripture is so full of "if, then" verses, that we have to know that we have to ask first..........and then He will guide us. Especially the "little steps".

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Psalm 128:1-2

Are we asking for His blessing by asking for His guidance?

Lord help me to do just that.

A Year in Bread

A Year in Bread

This site has the most delicious white bread recipe.

Farmgirl Fare

Farmgirl Fare is a facinating site with lots of interesting pictures and dreams of where I had thought we would be at this point in our life. But things change and only God knows how the tapestry will look at the end.

I am thinking that I will try this and see where it leads......

I am thinking that I will try this blog thing and see where it leads. Not sure that it is something that I will continue but it might be a good place to record my thoughts and impressions. Also some of my friends and family may have some great ideas as well that we might be able to share.
Through everything though I will try to give the glory to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
